Moscow City University of Psychology and Pedagogics (MGPPU) was established by decision of the Government of Moscow in 1997. The basis of MGPPU’s teaching staff is represented by professors of the oldest Russian institute of psychology - Moscow Institute of Psychology (nowadays Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Education) founded in 1912 by a famous Russian philosopher and psychologist, Chelpanov G.I. The outstanding psychologists – Vygotsky L.S., Luriya A.R., Leontiev A.N., Elkonin D.B., Bozhovich L.I., Zaporozhets A.V., Teplov B.M., Davydov V.V. brought name of the Institute of Psychology into repute. Today their students and followers teach at the University.

The Department provides its students with all electronic guidance and manuals, mixed-media and information materials for all disciplines.

Training process is organized by means of internet-technology and it is based on the student’s solitary work (if desired, it is possible to attend all necessary lectures in our University).
